Veterans Day is November 11, We’ve compiled a list of Free meals, Goods, services, and entertainment for veterans, retired and active military service members, as well as their families. This Veterans day, show your appreciation for a service member!

Free meals and other goodies:


Abuelo’s Mexican Food Restaurants – All veterans and active-duty
military receive a free entree.

America’s Incredible Pizza Company free meal from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Veterans Day 11/11 *Saint Louis restaurants are participating – check with your local restaurant for details.

Applebees– Free entree from select menu on Thursday November 11th at participating locations for active duty military & veterans

Bj’s Restaurant Free Lunch Entree or Mini Pizza for Veterans on Veterans Day Nov. 1

Carolina Burgers & BBQ – In Matthews, NC is offering a free meal to all
service members and veterans.

Chilis– free meal for veterans from a special menu on 11/11

Chick-Fil-A – All military personnel with valid ID will receive a free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich with any purchase.

Claim JumperFree dessert for veterans and active duty military with ID is available on Nov. 10, 2010. Dine in only.

Coushatta Casino Resort – The Louisiana casino and resort is offering a free seven-clans lunch or dinner buffet to veterans or active military.

Dick’s Drive-In– Free hamburger or cheeseburger at all 5 Seattle Dick’s Drive-In locations on Thursday November 11th from 10:30am until closing time. This is available for all veterans & active-duty – just bring some form of military ID or wear your uniform.

Famous Davesis offering different types of promotions depending on the location, including free sandwiches, etc

Golden Corral-Free meal for active duty & veterans on Monday November 15th from 5pm – 9pm

Hooters – Get a free meal from a special menu at participating restaurants when you purchase a beverage. Available for veterans and active military with ID. Dine in only. Cannot be combined with other discounts. Up to an $8.50 value.

Hy-Vee supermarkets – The mid-western supermarket chain is offering a
free breakfast to veterans, 11/11

Krispy Kreme Free doughnut. Available only at participating Krispy Kreme stores. Offer available to all active-duty, retirees & veterans on Thursday November 11th. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

Lonestar Steakhouse: Free spinach and artichoke dip for veterans 11/11

MarketPlace Grill & Express – Veterans and active-duty military receive
free entrees.

Masala Wok – The Northern Virginian restaurant is offering a free entree
to veterans.

McCormick & Schmicks – FREE Entree (lunch or dinner) from a select menu onSunday November 7th at participating restaurants for veterans & active duty military. They strongly recommend calling ahead for recommendations as space is limited. Bring military ID

Subway – Select Subway stores will offer a FREE 6″ sub for all active duty military or veterans. Definitely call ahead to confirm as this will vary by franchise

Texas Roadhouse free meal, Thursday, Nov. 11. Offer varies by location; our local Roadhouse is offering a free meal from opening until 4pm. Other locations may vary in offer, hours, or availability. Call ahead to your local restaurant for more information.

T.G.I. Fridays Buy one get one free Nov 11-14. At participating locations for anyone with an old or current military ID. November 11-14.

Big Lots– 10% discount for all veterans, active-duty military,
National Guard and reserve and their immediate families.

Brides Across America – Provides free wedding gowns to qualified
military brides.

Build-A-Bear Workshop – Members of the armed services including the
Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserve Officer
Training Corps, will receive a 20% discount Nov. 11-15 on any one
transaction at Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Cabelas Outdoor Store – Offers their employee discount to all veterans,
active-duty military and reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS
personnel Nov. 11-12. Discounts vary from 5% to 50%, depending on the

Dollar General – 10% discount for all veterans, active-duty military,
National Guard and reserve and their immediate families.

Fashion Bug – 20% off all plus-size and misses clothing purchases with a
copy of military ID or spouse’s military ID.

Lowe’s& Home Depot – Extra 10% off to active-duty military members,
National Guard and reserve members, retirees, honorably discharged
veterans and immediate family members.

Sam’s Club – Over 25,000 Hugo canes will be given away to U.S. veterans
in need of mobility assistance. Membership is not required, but supplies
are limited, so check with your local store.

Sleep Number Stores – Offering a FREE travel pillow to all active-duty military & retired thru November 14th. You just need to head into any store & find your “sleep number” setting

Entertainment Opportunities for Veterans

Battleship Cove – Free admission and a special ceremony for veterans,
active, duty and reservists.

Birmingham Museum of Art – Free admission to the ticketed event “Life
and Liberty” on Nov. 10-11 for veterans and active military.

Brevard Zoo, Florida – Free admission to active duty and retired military November 11-14, 2010. Spouse can receive free admission when active duty member is out of country.

Busch Gardens -Admission is free for active military duty personnel and up to three dependents for Sea World Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay or Williamsburg, Sesame Place, Adventure Island, or Water Country USA. Some exclusions. One per person per year. ID required.

California Automobile Museum, Sacramento – Free admission to active duty and retired military November 11, 2010.

Central Florida Zoo – Free admission to the Sanford, Florida zoo with
proper ID.

CNN Studio Tour– (Atlanta GA) offering free admission to active duty service members, reserves, national guard, veterans and retired veterans from Nov. 7-15.

Colonial Williamsburg – Free admission Nov. 6-11 for active-duty
military, guard and reservists, retirees, veterans and their dependents.

Greenbay (WI) New Zoo – Free admission to veterans and their families.

Historic Jamestown– Free admission to veterans, current Armed Forces
members and their family members.

Knott’s Berry Farm– Free park admission to U.S. armed forces personnel
and a guest during Veteran’s Month, November 1-26.

National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum – in Oklahoma City offers free
admission to veterans and five guests from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Veterans

National Museum of Patriotism – (Atlanta, GA) admission is free to all active and retired military personnel.

National parks, forests and monuments – Admission is free to everyone on
Veterans Day.

Natural Elements Spa & Salon – In Chesapeake, Virginia, will provide
free services from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to both active duty and retired

Oregon Zoo – Free admission on 11/11 for military and their families

Outward Bound – Free expeditions – adventure and self-discovery for Veterans of combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Point Defiance Zoo – Free admission to the zoo for retired military. Dependents can receive $3 off general admission. Valid on Thursday November 11th only. Veteran ID required

San Jacinto Museum of History– Free visits to the Observation Deck,
theatre, and special exhibit for veterans, active duty military
personnel, and their families.

Sea World – Admission is free for active military duty personnel and up to three dependents for Sea World Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay or Williamsburg, Sesame Place, Adventure Island, or Water Country USA. Some exclusions. One per person per year. ID required.

World of Coca-Cola (Atlanta, GA) is offering free admission for active and retired military personnel on Nov. 7-14. Friends and Family can enjoy admission for 50 percent off (up to four family members or friends)

World of Golf Hall of Fame Museum – free admission for veterans and retired military on 11/11
