Abscess Irrigation (cats)
1/4 teaspoon sea salt or table salt
1 teaspoon Betadine solution
1 cup water, boiled & cooled to body temp
Mix all 3 together, Fill a medicine syringe. Wrap your cat in a towel gently, but firmly. Be sure to wrap his paws as well, leaving the abscessed area open so you can clean it. If your veterinarian has inserted a drain tube, gently insert just the tip of the syringe in the tube opening, be very careful not to move the tube. Inject the solution into the abscess area very slowly, as this may cause your cat to struggle if your too forceful. Gently press the abscess pocket flat, allowing it to drain. Repeat this procedure as often as directed by your vet.

Has anyone tried using a cone to keep their cat from licking the abscess? It saved me a lot of stress
