Dog Biscuits
From the kitchen of Bored Stiff
Here is my favorite dog biscuit recipe. I use the small jar of baby food to make my biscuits in this recipe.
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 tablespoons margarine or meat drippings
1 beaten egg
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 cup water
To add variety to recipe, add any of the following:
1 cup pureed cooked vegetables
6 tablespoons whole wheat
3 tablespoons liver powder
2 to 3 tablespoons dried soup greens
1 small jar of meat baby food
Combine flour, powdered milk, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal. Mix in egg. Add enough water so that mixture forms a ball. Roll out dough. Cut with doggie biscuit cutter. Remove scraps and proceed as before.
Bake at 350 degrees F.
Small Biscuits: 25-30 minutes
Large Biscuits: 40-45 minutes
