Create your own healthy Carob Doggie treats with this easy recipe that fido will literally beg for! These make wonderful holiday gifts for pet lovers in your family.
Please note that this recipe calls for carob powder, NOT CHOCOLATE, as chocolate is TOXIC to dogs and cats.
6 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup carob powder
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup canola oil
2 1/2 cups water
In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients and stir well until it forms a stiff dough, Roll out on a floured board to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Using a floured cutter (design of your choice!) Cut into shapes.
Place the cut outs on an ungreased cookie sheet and Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Turn the oven off and keep biscuits inside without opening door slightly, & allow to sit overnight to harden.
Be sure to keep kids & pets away from the oven!
Makes about 6 dozen 3-inch cookies.
If you’d like dip them in carob coating for added kick!

thanks!:preggers:
could anyone recommend an alternative to wheat flour as my dogs (and many others) are allergic to wheat.
Dogs would definitively love these. I need to find a bone cookie cutter. Have made other recipes but not this one.
