If you make a lot of your own beauty care and cosmetics, chances are you have most of these ingredients on hand. Luckily they’re rather inexpensive, overall, and last a very long time. Since the amounts called for are so small they have a tendency to last a very long time.
You’ll Need:
1/4 tsp cinnamon oil
1/4 tsp clove oil
1 tsp ground sage
1/4 cup arrowroot
1/4 cup powdered orris root
1/4 cup water

Combine all ingredients except water in a small bowl, stirring well. Slowly add water, forming a paste, until the toothpaste is at the consistency you prefer.

Arrowroot is a starch obtained from the rhizomes (rootstock) of several tropical plants. Orris root powder has anti-inflammatory properties, it helps relieve nasal and chest congestion as well.
