Eucalyptus-Mint All-Purpose Disinfecting Soft Soap for Kitchen and Bath! This simple homemade soft soft blend is excellent to clean dishes, laundered items that need to be hand-washed, appliances, sinks, stoves, bathrooms and more.
Although mild to the skin, the eucalyptus is tough on germs and helps to disinfect while providing a lovely fresh scent.
As a bonus, using eucalyptus essential oil in your cleaning products also helps to naturally repel undesirable insects and pests from hanging around inside your home.

5 cups grated castile soap
1/2 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon borax
6 cups hot peppermint tea
1 teaspoon eucalyptus essential oil

In a 3-quart stainless steel saucepan, combine the powdered/grated castile soap and hot mint tea. Bring the mixture to a simmer for fifteen minutes over low heat. Add baking soda, borax, and eucalyptus oil stirring well. Remove from heat, cool about 30 minutes, transfer to plastic jug or squirt bottle & label as disinfectant soap. Shake well before using.

  1. This sounds great! Can tea tree oil be substituted for the eucalyptus oil? So you need to rinse after using this?

I can’t wait to try it!

You could substitute tea tree, but it won’t smell as fresh and yes, like all soaps, Rinse afterwards. 🙂
