Those with long hair often suffer from split ends, giving your hair an unwelcome frizzy appearance. Here is an easy, do it yourself remedy that requires a simple summer ingredient, Corn on the Cob.
This old-time home remedy was used generations ago in the South to keep hair free of frizzies from split ends.

To begin, simply Scorch the end of a RAW corncob with an open flame, cool.

Then use the scorched end of the corncob to comb the ends of your hair, thus removing the split ends.

While this can Remove split ends, your best bet is to avoid getting them to begin with. Here are a few tips for avoiding split ends:

  • Avoid using harsh chemicals in your hair
  • Reduce the amount of excess heat you use, curling irons, hair dryers, straighteners, etc
  • Use a wide-tooth comb or brush, avoid a fine bristle brush which tends to cause excessive breakage
  • Trim your hair on a regular basis
  • Use Lukewarm water during shampooing and conditioning, rather than hot water.
  • Avoid the overuse of product which can have a drying effect on your hair, making it more susceptible to breakage and splitting
