You’ll need the Following:

  • 2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 c. salt
  • 2 T. cream of tartar
  • 2 Pkgs Any Flavor unsweetened Kool-Aid

Now.. How to Make Them!

This recipe fits best in a 1 quart, wide-mouth canning jar, which can be used to store your finished playdough to prevent it from drying out.

Combine salt, cream of tartar, as well as both packages of kool-aid, blending well. Measure 1 cup of flour into the jar, pressing down to pack. Layer with 1/2 the salt/tartar/kool aid mix.

Add remaining flour, pack, then remaining salt/tartar/kool aid mix.

Seal & decorate jar, adding cookie cutters, and recipe tag for completing the homemade scented playdough.

Directions:
1 Jar of Playdough Mix
2 c. water
2 tbsp. vegetable oil

Remove the contents of the jar and transfer the contents of 1 bag into a large bowl. Add 1 c. water & 1 tbs oil, mixing well. Place mixture into microwave for about 3-4 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds or so to stir.

Set aside and let it cool. Prepare the contents of the 2nd bag in the same manner.

Play dough is ready when a ball forms and is pliable. Cool before playing (be sure to test the middle as it tends to stay hot).

Store your jar of playdough in the fridge. (It will go rancid after a few weeks if left out due to the oil).
