Salt scrubs are meant to increase circulation and help keep skin healthy. When properly performed, they work by exfoliating the outer layers of dead skin cells, whilst revealing the softer younger cells
8 Cups coarse pickling or Kosher salt.
2 Cups avocado, untoasted sesame oil or jojoba oil
1 Cup apricot or peach kernel oil
1 Cup unsweetened cocoa or ¼ Cup freeze dried coffee crystals
2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
honey for smoothing the texture
Place the salt in a small bowl and add the remaining ingredients.
How to Use a Body Scrub:
Sit on the edge of a tub and moisten the area you wish to scrub.
Place a tablespoon or so of the body scrub in the palm and gently work each area for approximately 1 minute. If you work to quickly, you won’t properly exfoliate.
Be sure not to scour too hard or too long.
If you want baby smooth skin, exfoliate once weekly.
Body scrubs should never be used on the face.
👩🍳 About the Author
Melissa "Liss" Burnell started Budget101.com in 2001 because she needed it to exist — not because she saw a market opportunity. She was feeding a family of four on under $200 a month, and people kept asking how, so she started writing everything down.
That turned into 25 years of recipes, debt-busting strategies, and DIY content — including figuring out how to make 128 loads of laundry detergent for less than $2. Millions of families have quietly used this site to stretch a dollar without feeling like they're sacrificing anything. She's also the author of two bestselling budget cooking ebooks, available on Amazon.
