i tend to like powdered soaps better. i will try this soon
i also add 1/4 c oxyclean for added stain removing power. This will get out even set in stains.
where do you get the washing soda? is it baking soda? i will be making this.
once i find out what the washing soda is.
You can make washing soda from baking soda
I needed a few more Tablespoons once.
I do not recall only that it was easy.
I buy the washing soda on Amazon.
U can find it at Wal-Mart, Kmart etc.
I have been using the Mom’s super laundry sauce
I wash in cold water the grated soap would never dissolve.
I’m staying with the Sauce.
i asked myself the very same questions and i think my research will benefit you. washing sod and baking soda are chemically different. baking soda is edible and known as sodium bicarbonate, washing soda is never edible and is known as sodium carbonate.
try starting your search in the laundry detergent isle of supermarket, then at the hardware stores such as home hardware, then large chain discounters and wholesalers. search online if all else fails..it is, in fact incredibly easy to make your own washing soda from baking soda. here is how it works: baking soda + heat = washing soda.
instructions: heat oven to 425f. sprinkle baking soda on cookie sheet to cover and bake for a total of 1-1&1/2 hours. take out and shift it around at least once and return to oven.
alternate temp and time: 400f and two hours. you could optimize time and effort by cooking something at the same time. or use the toaster oven.
you will know it is done when it turns a slight yellowish color. this is good for me because i tend to forget items on my list all the time.
