Liquid Laundry Detergent Recipe #4

In order to make a decent liquid laundry detergent, you’ll need one of the following powdered detergents:

  • Laundry Detergent
  • Strong Laundry Detergent (Heavily Soiled Clothing) Powdered
  • Laundry Softener & Stain Remover
  • Hard Water Laundry Detergent
  • Soft or Hard Water Laundry Detergent
  • Powdered Hard Water Detergent

In a Bucket, Bowl or other container combine the following:

1 cup of any of the above mixes
    2 Tbs glycerin
    2 cups warm water

Mix very well, we’ve used a hand mixer with great success! The glycerin helps to hold the ingredients all together and prevents them from separating. Glycerin is often found in the pharmacy section of most grocery stores or supermarkets, or you can get it online at amazon as well.

    Use: 1/4 – 1/3 c. per load

    👩‍🍳 About the Author

Melissa "Liss" Burnell started Budget101.com in 2001 because she needed it to exist — not because she saw a market opportunity. She was feeding a family of four on under $200 a month, and people kept asking how, so she started writing everything down.

That turned into 25 years of recipes, debt-busting strategies, and DIY content — including figuring out how to make 128 loads of laundry detergent for less than $2. Millions of families have quietly used this site to stretch a dollar without feeling like they're sacrificing anything. She's also the author of two bestselling budget cooking ebooks, available on Amazon.
