Microwave Playdough in a Jar

Homemade playdoh is incredibly easy to make and is a great way to teach kids how to measure ingredients! This microwave playdough in a jar recipe makes a lovely gift or make a few ahead of time to have on hand in case of a rainy day.

Microwave Playdough in a Jar

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Choose Scent or Coloring

1. For fruit-scented: use 1 or 2 envelopes unsweetened flavored Kool-aid drink mix
2. For chocolate scented: replace 1 c. flour with 1 c. cocoa powder

Combine all in 1 qt wide mouth jar, attach plastic cookie cutters and tag with the following directions.

Microwave Play Dough
2 cups water
2 tablespoons baby oil
1 dough mix

Blend all in microwave safe bowl, until well mixed. “Cook” for about 4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until ball forms, then return to microwave until you have completed the 4 minutes time. Let cool.

Store in refrigerator or in an airtight container.
