Homemade baby wipes are not only economical, they often work better than their store-bought counterparts. There are a number of reasons a person might choose to make their own wipes. Perhaps you ran out and don’t feel like going shopping, or can’t get to a store, or maybe you can’t afford them. Regardless of why, here is a make your own simple solution baby wipes recipe.
The following recipe is for normal, every day use. In the event that your child is experiencing diaper rash or fungal infection, we recommend the antifungal diaper wipes recipe.
MYO Simple Solution Baby Wipes
In order to make your own Baby wipes you’ll need the following items:
- Paper Towels (preferably a soft brand)
- A Soapy Solution
- Container to put them in
Paper Product (Choose one)
Paper Towels (soft), Bounty, Viva, or a good brand that won’t fall apart.
SOAPY SOLUTION (Choose One)
- 1 Tablespoon of Liquid Baby Soap and ¼ Cup Water
- 3 Tablespoons of Baby oil, 3 Tablespoons of Baby Shampoo, 2 Cups water
- 2 Tablespoons Creamy Baby Oil, and 1 Tablespoons Baby Wash, 2 Cups Water
- 2 Cups Water, 2 Tablespoons Baby oil, 2 Tablespoons Antibacterial Hand Soap
CONTAINER (choose one)
Empty Shortening Can
Ice Cream Bucket
Plastic Coffee Can with Lid
a mason jar & recap lids
Any small round container with plastic lid
With each of these containers, you can cut an “X” into the plastic lid and then pull them out that way. It will hold the moisture in better.
How to Make them:
Cut the Paper Towel Roll in half and place one-half in a gallon ziploc bag or large bowl.
Soak in paper towels in a bowl of the Soapy Solution to absorb the moisture for 20 minutes in a sealed, airtight container or overnight if not covered.
Slide the cardboard center out of the paper towels.
Place the wet paper towels into the container of your choice.
Starting from the center, pull out one at a time to use.
In addition to being more economical, most people claim these formulas cause fewer irritations on the skin.
