Hair styling gel is simple to make and works like a charm…
1/2 to 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1 cup warm water
2 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Dissolve gelatin in warm water, add essential oil Let set 10 minutes. Use as you would regular hair store bought gel.
The essential oil is optional, but highly recommended as it is antibacterial and will make the gel last longer

hi! i was wondering how long does the hair styling gel last and do you need to store it in the refrigerator?
Hi Mari, you do not need to store it in the fridge, but if you’re going to keep it for more than a couple weeks, you’ll want to add 2-3 drops of vitamin E oil (from a capsule, just prick it with a needle and add the drops) for a natural preservative. I’ve never had a problem with any mold, but I don’t remember it ever lasting longer than a couple weeks.
do you have to put in the essential oil? i don’t like any smells on my body…
this would save me bundles! about to run out of my $18.95 bottle of gel! WOW!
