thought I would post some places we regularly use our Sr. Disc. in Columbia SC,(businesses have different ages they consider seniors)

Be sure to ask where ever you go, many places offer % off or free or reduced price drinks.

      Arby’s free drink
      Taco Bell free drink
      Wendy’s 25cent drink (some charge 30 cent)
      Hardee’s 39 cent drink
      Bojangles 25 cent drink
many restaurants also have a special Senior menu (slightly reduced portions)
or will let you order lunch menu at supper time, supper menus are always priced higher and have larger portions.

      Belk’s 15%off one day a month
Kohl’s no special day but mail you a coupon about 4 times a year
      Ross’s 15%off every Tuesday

Goodwill 10%off every day, 20% off Tuesdays

there may be others but these are just some of our regular “pit-stops”

      Start asking for it
      .
      every little bit helps

      Niddi,
Senior Discounts — some places & states–have an age — what are the starting ages for these discounts?

one of the dept. stores here is 55, a few of the grocery stores are 60, Kohl’s is 62 and I think Wendy’s is 65, they all vary so you just have to ask if they do and what their age requirement is. I’ve been in line behind some people in fast food places that were obviously well over the required age and when they ordered a drink they were charged regular price, the cashiers don’t tell you that they have Sr. special and most places don’t have any sign up.

A lot of people just aren’t aware of it, so they pay that rediculous price for a soda. Most of our dept stores do adverise it in their flyers.

When we got old enough for senior discounts (DH first) we went to Denny’s for breakfast. We went to pay our bill & she rang up full price, of course, I being Scotch said why didn’t we get our discount? She said we had to ask for it & I responded with ‘you shouldn’t advertise it unless you also state must request’. We learned a lesson from that.

I use the senior discount @ Goodwill, Salvation Army, a local restuarant. I tried McD’s senior discount coffee..but WOW-their coffee is just too strong to drink! You know, wherever I’m at & there’s a discount-I’m using it!!!

      Thanks for the list!

I received this as an email from a long time friend in her 70’s.
The few discounts I have asked for have been honored
There is no guarantee they will be honored in your area but then again, they may.
