1 pkg yellow cake mix
1 egg
1 stick butter, meltedPreheat oven to 350. Combine ingredients & mix well. Pat into lightly greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Set aside while preparing filling.
Filling:
1 (8oz) cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter, melted
1 (16oz) box powdered sugarBeat cream chees until smooth. Add eggs & vanilla. Add butter & beat. Add powdered sugar & mix well. Spread over cake mixture. Bake 40-50 minutes. (You want the center to be gooey, so don’t over bake.)

Oh, here are some Variations! 🙂 :
1.) Use a chocolate cake mix with cream cheese filling. Then add chocolate chips on top.
2.) Use chocolate cake mix. Add 3/4 to 1 cup peanut butter to filling. Add chocolate chips on top.

Ooey Gooey Butter Cake
18-oz box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
4 eggs, divided
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
16-oz box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts — such as pecans or walnutsOptional: Powder sugar for dustingDirections
- Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease 9×13 baking pan.
- Combine cake mix and butter with pastry blender until crumbly.
- Stir in 2 eggs.
- Press mixture into prepared pan.
- With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese in a medium bowl until fluffy, about 1 min.
- Add the two remaining eggs, and gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until combined.
- Fold in chopped nuts.
- Spread batter on unbaked crust. Bake for 35 to 40 min.
- Cool completely in pan set on a wire rack.
- Cut into small pieces and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
