You’ll Need:
3/4 cup apple cider or juice
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup (make your own)
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

In a medium-sized (heavy) saucepan, combine all ingredients, except the spices.. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until slightly thickened, then add cinnamon and nutmeg. Simmer another 5 minutes, remove from heat.

Let stand for 30 minutes before serving.

Tips: Please remember to reduce the heat immediately when it comes to a boil or you will NEVER get your pan clean, it will turn to a candy apple like coating.

  1. It makes about a cup and it lasts about 1 meal in this house, although it could be refrigerated for a couple weeks without issue.
