I also make a weekly menu plan, but I include breakfast and lunch.
That way, everyone knows exactly what they are eating. I can ensure
that we have everything we need. I print out one page for the menu
and at the bottom I leave a space for stuff we need for the following
week (like if we run out of something).

Then, on another piece of
paper, I print out all the recipes and keep them in the kitchen on my
cookbook holder. It makes meal time so easy and streamlined. Here's
my menu for this week.
friday:
dinner ---- meatloaf, mashed potatoes and applesauce
saturday:
breakfast --- oatmeal
lunch ---- leftovers
dinner --- mom's fast chili p.

sunday:
breakfast ---- oatmeal
late lunch/early dinner ----- mom's sloppy joes and chips
monday:
breakfast ---oatmeal
lunch --- noodles in cabinet
dinner ---- french onion soup w/english muffins
tuesday:
breakfast ---cereal
lunch ---peanut butter and honey/jelly sandwiches
dinner ---- salisbury steak and mashed potatoes
wednesday:
breakfast --- poached eggs and toast

lunch ---- leftovers
dinner ---- sausage and eggs with toast
thursday:
breakfast ?

oatmeal/cereal
lunch --- leftovers
dinner ---- chili dogs
