Newbie from ME & Fl

Hi my name is Deb & I’m from Southern ME but now find myself spending winters in Fl. The last few yrs. my husband dreamed of winters in Fl. playing golf instead of shoveling snow. It was pretty easy to go along with 20 yrs. ago but it’s here & I’m slowly trying to adjust. I have Fibromyalgia & heat & humidity are very hard for me. I’m interested in freezer cooking recipe & tips so we’ll have something good, but easy on those nights I just can’t cook. I’m also interested in money saving tips, always have been with a family of 4 children. It’s a little tighter with retirement rather than my husbands salary. Our youngest son has development disabilities & altho he’s finally getting SS disability we still have to cover a lot for him. Trying to keep 2 places is difficult-I’m not complaining I know how lucky we are to be able to do this. We bought place in Fl from husbands parents & kept a very tight budget for many yrs. this is paid for & our family home will be in 2 yrs. so we’ve been lucky. My 3boys are all in Maine. My oldest is staying in our house with my youngest for first time, we brought him down here first 2 years. So this is really our first time spent alone since we had kids. My daughter is 5 hours away in Ga. Her husband in navy & my 3 wonderful grandchildren. The best reason to be in Fl. to me. Well I guess I went overboard but am looking forward to what I can learn here. I’m also hoping to do some crafting & home decorating, things I haven’t done in years. Looking forward to “meeting” others here too.
