Make your own Easy Bake Oven Apple Cookies! This delicious recipe is for the intermediate chef.
1/4 cup unsalted butter; softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tablespoon grated apples
1 cup all purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
red food coloring
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add apples; mix well.
Sift together flour, salt and baking soda; add to sugar/butter mix. Turn dough onto a floured cutting board, and knead until smooth.
Divide in half. Wrap separately and chill until firm, about 1 hour.
Shape each half into an 8″ long log. Roll logs in colored sugar to coat. Wrap and chill until hard, about 3 hours or overnight.
Butter and flour the baking pans.
Unwrap and slice the dough into 1/4″ thick rounds. Place two rounds in each prepared pan, slide into the oven, bake in Easy-Bake Oven until beginning to brown around edges, about 20 minutes.
Cool the pans on a wire rack.
Icing:
1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
2 tablespoons apple juice
Mix confectioner’s sugar and apple juice. When cookies are done, transfer to wire racks. Brush cookies with icing and let cool.
