Ooh, I'd love the laundry sauce Liss! Here's my Unique Tip: If you want to create a spooky looking book such as a Book of Shadows or a "Spell" book etc, you can transform an old hardcover book by adding a thin picture fram that matches the size of the book and then spray paint it to match the book and cover. Before spraying use a hot glue gun with a metallic glue (yes, they have colors) to create a design on the front of the book. These are great for making Grim's or Spooky looking books. For the "Lock" cut up an old belt that no long fits and attach it with a heavy duty glue (such as gorilla glue).

Here's an easy decoration idea, peel the labels of old bottles (you can use goo-gone to remove the label) and then wash them thoroughly. Spray paint them in layers of Orange, yellow and white to make them look like Candy- Corn. Add a few colorful leaves around the base and a couple of mini pumpkins and you have an instant dirt cheap centerpiece of recycled materials!

I have a costume Idea that I saw on Craft Gossip on FB!, You could Go as Grumpy Cat for Halloween. It would be fun just to hold up the mask when trick or treaters come to the door.

You need a couple pieces of felt,Light brown for the face, light tan for the nose, dark brown for around the ears and eyes and blue for the eyes themselves. This one is really easy and you can use a piece of elastic/stretchy material to keep it on.

Another one that we've done in the past is making nightcrawlers out of gelatin. Mix up the package according to the directions for the Jigglers, add just a touch LESS water than it calls for. Then add a couple more drops of food coloring to give them a nasty fleshy color.

You put the straws into a tall narrow cup (such as a vase) Hold them all together with a rubber band. When you fill them, they will also fill at the base. Some will run out, but just fill the glass. Put them in the fridge until they set and rinse briefly with warm water to get them to fall out.

Default Costume Idea: 50 Shades of Gray

At the request of my other half, this is my planned costume for our party tomorrow night, I'm going as "50 Shades of Gray". I picked up a bunch of paint swatches from our local paint store (actually, I went to several different ones just so I didn't wipe them out, lol).

I have a few favorite costumes. My sister has a party every year and everyone makes costumes
    1. My nanny went as a "black eye pea" = colored her eye black and wrote a big "p" on her tshirt
    2. Rhinestone cow girl = I made a mask on my face with rhinestones and dressed cow girl and used the kids stick pony as my horse
    3. My brother in law works in oil field so he came as "oil field trash" = wore a company shirt with a white trash bag on top
4 . Men in black= my sister and her husband wore black slacks and jackets with white shirts and black sunglasses.
    5. This year I am going as super mom= cape, apron with bottle wipes diapers spatula oven mits cleaners and eyes in the back of my head.
I know these are all simple costumes but the theme is to design with what you have at home.

Popeye and olive oil is one of the cheapest/easiest couples costume I've ever done.
For the woman, black skirt (glue a yellow ribbon toward the bottom), red shirt (glue a white ribbon toward the bottom of the selves and ribbon around the neck line, wear brown boots.
For the man: Blue jeans, a blue button shirt, a sailors hat (I found mine at a local thrift store for $2) and a corn cob pipe (Halloween store for $3). We won 2 costume contest with these costumes last year, and I only spent about $10.

I have a few costume ideas that I have dressed as. Money Tree Headquarters and a Deviled Egg
    1. I combined 2 ideas into one and was Money Tree Head Quarters. I used copy machine to enlarge the front and back of quarters and glued them on a headband so I had a row of them across my head for the "headquarters". Next I used a color copier and made small copies of different dollar bills and then pinned them in bunches and safety pinned them all over a green shirt for the "Money Tree". At work I even added a sign on my reception counter that said Money Tree Headquarters.
    2. For the deviled egg I used and old white sheet and put holes for head and arms and the sewed sides and hemmed bottom so would go around my thighs. I used a fuzzy yellow fur piece (or you can use yellow material) and sew on a yellow yoke on the front. I pinned a devils tail on back and wore horns. Instant Deviled Egg. While at work I also took deviled eggs to potluck and put a sign by them that said please don't eat my children lol.

Sorry I couldn't find my pics at posting still looking

Every Halloween my Mother prepared us weiner wraps for a quick ' fly by' dinner. Pillsbury makes both the pastries in their roll type cans. You can use either the officia l weinie wraps or the crescent dinner rolls.Buy your favoritec weiners and follow directions on the package.Wrap in advance to surround the weiner, Bake as directed ( about 10 minutes). While you are getting the kids costumes , bake these and serve with chocolate milk and carrots to dip, putting the ketchup mustard etc. On the table so they eat and dress their own styles. By the time you are ready, they will be ready to go and fed with real food to keep them warm. Easy and budget minded.

This year I am going to go as a pillow, I have a ton of pillow cases that are standard size. everyone now has king size pillows. I have 4 that are the same color. I am going to sew 2 together and then sew the top and sides leaving arm holes and a head hole. the opening for the pillows will be at my feet. I am then going to make shoulders with cardboard and put cotton stuffing on top so I can be soft. I know I am running out of time, but I work best under pressure. besides it is suppose to storm here so I don't know if we can go or not.

One year I chaperoned my young teen daughters while out trick-treating. I went as a gray kitty with white paws. I dressed in what I had laying around. I wore an all gray sweatshirt and sweatpants, white tennis shoes, and white mittens, pinned a tail on my backside and wore cat ears (headband) and drew whiskers and a black triangle on my nose with black eyeliner. (I made the tail from scrap fabric that I had sewn into a tube and stuffed it with socks that were missing their mate or had holes for an earlier event with our High School FRC Robotics team--Westview Wildcats, in Beaverton, OR.) And I carried a ball of yarn. Everyone commented on how cute my daughters' kitten was. LOL

This one might qualify as a bit.. Rank, so beware if you're senstive!

A group of us went one years as various PUNS, I was "Peter Pan". I hung a small frying pan from my belt loop so that it covered my dangly parts. Hence the .. Peter Pan.

I told you it was a bit rank. My best friend is a redhead, not a little red, we're talking CarrotTop red. We taped loaves of italian bread to him and he went as a "Gingerbread Man".
