GlacierWe have a well, that my husband installed over 18 years ago. It is
still going strong… although I agree that lightning can strike, surges can
happen and you should have a savings for that risk happening,… it hasn’thappened to us in 18 years.
Also, we have been on septic for that long as well, never had a problem with
it. You won’t if it’s installed correctly, the leaching lines etc, no treeroots etc.. and also the thing I believe in most. Do not flush anything
down the toilet except your human waste. No toiletpaper, tampons, etc. My
mom and dad had a septic and well and never had to do anything to their wellin over 30 years, never had to do anything to the septic in 30 years, then
they had to replace it because the lid broke or something.
So, as far as I am concerned, LOL, I’ll keep my well and septic… thechances of having to have it re-drilled? Pretty slim. My grandmother’s well
is a shallow well and is still going strong in over 85 years of pumping for
her huge family and now my sister’s family.To each his own.
