Cabbage with Bacon

1 large head of cabbage, chopped
10 slices of bacon
2 large onions, chopped
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste

Place bacon in large(2-4 qt) pan. Fry until crispy. Remove bacon.
Saute onion in bacon drippings until clear.

Add bacon to onions.
Add cabbage and mix until cabbage is covered with drippings. Cook on
high-medium until cabbage is tender.
I like my vegetables a little crunchy. I add very little salt because of

the salt content in the bacon.

I have also at different times added
celery seeds or sour cream after the cabbage is cooked.
