      Firstly, our site, https://www.budget101.com/dehydrated_foods.htm has a great
      food drying/dehydrating section to answer many of your questions. However,
      members often ask specifically about drying apples this time of year.

      Once you have peeled & sliced your apples dunk them into a mixture of ascorbic
      acid (Vitamin C!), The amount I use is 2 tsp per cup of warm water. Ascorbic
      acid is available at most walmarts/targets, etc.

      Some recipes may recommend soaking your fruit in salt or vinegar, which not
      only ruins the taste, but results in a longer drying time.
