These keto cheesy garlic breadsticks taste so close to traditional bread sticks that they have become our go-to recipe for snacking! Although the ingredients are the same as those for a traditional fathead dough, the method for preparing them is slightly different. The best part, they’re cauliflower-free!
Rather than microwaving and melting the mozzarella and cream cheese together, the items are mixed in their whole state.
The end resulting breadstick is crispy, crunchy, on the bottom, yet pillowy and chewy in the middle, as it should be.
How to Make Keto Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks
Measure the shredded mozzarella into a medium-sized bowl.
Add the almond flour to the mozzarella. We prefer to use superfine almond flour for this recipe, at it provides the best finished texture that most closely resembles a traditional yeast dough.
Add the garlic powder and baking powder. We opt to use garlic powder rather than minced garlic because freshly minced garlic tends to burn when the breadsticks are baking, whereas the powder does not.
Stir the ingredients together to combine.
Next, add the softened, room temperature butter and cream cheese to the bowl and finally, the egg.
Mix well, ensuring that all the ingredients are well blended.
Overturn the recipe onto a Silpat or parchment-lined baking sheet and use the back of a spoon to spread it out evenly. Mix the ingredients for the topping.
Spread the topping mixture evenly over the top of the breadstick dough.
Bake at 400°F for about fifteen minutes, or until the cheesy garlic breadsticks are golden brown.
Let cool a few minutes before cutting and serving with your favorite marinara sauce.
These keto garlic breadsticks have so much flavor and the texture closely resembles traditional garlic breadsticks.
