Not sure if we did something wrong, but after the 15 minutes baking, this was still liquid, so we kept baking in 5 minute increments, giving up after 30 minutes total of it still being liquid. As it cooled it turned into a hard candy. The second one we tried, we stopped cooking at 15 minutes, still candy like in texture….My kiddos were very disappointed.
This was our first time using the oven, and now, the batter from this is spilled all over inside where it cooked over and not sure how to get it clean. My kiddos were bummed! Any advice or suggestions?
Did you put the light bulb In?
You might have put the pan in the cooling section, instead of the heating section.
Common mistake. You just look in both sides of the easy bake, if you see the pannin either sides, grab the oven stick and move it back. When you see the a metal flag on both sides, that means its cooking 🙂 hope that helps!
Did you out the light bulb in?
We tried this recipe because my daughters love brownies, and they were very excited, but ended this experiment in tears because it failed miserably. After 15 minutes it was still completely liquid and appeared to have boiled. As it cooled it became rock solid and ruined our easy bake pan and brand new oven.
My daughters were very upset as they had just received the easy bake oven for their birthday and now the pan and the oven are ruined. Any suggestions on how to clean the inside of the oven? I do not recommend this recipe unless you wish to have your easy bake oven ruined and your house smelling of burnt rubber.
Caution!! This is a terrible recipe! I baked this with my 7 year old niece, thinking that this would be the perfect snow day project.
When we mixed everything together it tasted really funky, but we baked it anyways. After 20 minutes, we took it out and it looked like boiling tar. It tasted really bad, and after 5 minutes of sitting, it turned to a rock and ruined my pan.
Oh, and did i mention how it boiled over, into my oven, burned, and merged with the plastic creating a terrible smell. do not use this recipe!

That’s very interesting that 2 (new members) posted the same review at the same time. First of all, I would have to ask, what brand of chocolate syrup did you use? Secondly, easy bake oven directions state to bake brownies for 12 minutes NOT 20!!
Also, which easy bake oven model are you are using, as there are several different ones and the temperature they reach is different, some cook at 350F others at 375F etc
My kids have made this several times without issue, so I would look at the ingredients and whether the amounts were carefully measured.
I think we must have done something wrong too, because ours was just horrible. It never did anything but boil and then turn into a sticky mess that had to be soaked in hot water to even get off the pan. We put ours in a small oven, not Easy Bake oven.
I am so thankful we did after reading the other comments, my kids would have been so upset to lose the oven or have it ruined. I strongly think this recipe should be taken off!! I wish we would have read the comments first. We were all just so excited to find this site and try new things.
Our stores around here never have the recipes boxes for Easy Bake ovens. I do LOVE some of the other suggestions on this site, just not this one.
