Angel Cookie Mix Recipe

Yield: Approximately 12 mini (1-inch) cookies

Ingredients:

  • 6 teaspoons butter, softened
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

  • In a small bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and pinch of salt until smooth. This helps the sugars dissolve slightly and makes the cookies tender and flavorful.
  • Add the flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda to the butter mixture, stirring until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. The dough should be smooth and easy to handle.

2. Divide the Dough

  • Roll the dough into small balls, about the size of a marble (approximately 1/2 teaspoon of dough per ball). Place the balls onto a small plate, or directly onto your baking sheet if it fits.

Baking Instructions

For Classic Easy-Bake Oven (Light Bulb Model)

  1. Preheat the Oven: Turn on your Easy-Bake Oven by inserting the warming tray and allow it to heat for about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Baking Pan: Lightly grease the Easy-Bake Oven baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Bake: Place 3-4 cookie dough balls on the baking pan, giving each a bit of space to spread. Carefully slide the pan into the oven.
  4. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies begin to turn golden brown. The time may vary depending on the light bulb wattage, so keep an eye on them.
  5. Cool: Once baked, carefully remove the pan using the oven tool. Let the cookies cool for a minute or two before transferring them to a plate.

For Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven (Electric Model)

  1. Preheat the Oven: Plug in your Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven and allow it to preheat for about 20 minutes, as recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Prepare the Baking Pan: Lightly grease the baking pan that comes with the Ultimate Oven.
  3. Bake: Place 3-4 cookie dough balls on the pan, spaced slightly apart. Slide the pan into the Ultimate Oven.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes. The electric element heats evenly, so these should cook a bit faster than in the light bulb model. Check after 5 minutes, and bake for another minute if needed for a golden finish.
  5. Cool: Carefully remove the pan and let the cookies cool slightly before enjoying.

Tips for Success

  • Make the Dough Ahead: You can double or triple this recipe to make extra dough, then refrigerate or freeze it in small portions. It’ll be ready anytime you want a quick baking session.
  • Customize Your Cookies: Add a pinch of cinnamon or a drop of vanilla extract to the dough for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Even Baking: Place only a few cookies on the pan at a time to ensure even baking. Overcrowding can cause the cookies to bake unevenly.
  • Storage: These mini cookies are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
