Make your own fluffy homemade White Frosting Mix for cakes and whoopie pies!

2 cups Confectioners sugar — sifted
3 tablespoons instant nonfat milk powder
6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
Blend all until well mixed

To Use

Add 3 T of Ice cold water and Blend well. Add additional water (by tsp) if needed until desired consistency.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups confectioners sugar sifted
  • 3 tablespoons instant nonfat milk powder
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 3 tablespoons ice-cold water
  • Additional ice-cold water 1 teaspoon at a time, as needed

Instructions

  1. Sift the confectioners sugar into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the instant nonfat milk powder and vegetable shortening.
  3. Blend until the dry mix is evenly combined.
  4. Transfer the mix to an airtight container if storing for later use.
  5. To prepare the frosting, place the mix in a bowl and add 3 tablespoons ice-cold water.
  6. Blend until smooth and fluffy.
  7. Add additional cold water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the frosting reaches the desired consistency.
