Spiced Apple Cake Mix in a Jar

Spiced Apple Cake Mix is a make-ahead mason jar cake mix loaded with nuts and raisins and once mixed, bursting with bits of fresh apples. The cake is moist, light, fragrant with spices and completely delicious.

This cake can be served for breakfast with coffee or hot chocolate, as a snack, or even dessert (it’s that good!). The mix makes a lovely addition to a gift bag or basket.

You’ll Need:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. powdered vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup golden raisins

Combine all ingredients in Jar Or vacuum seal bag.

Spiced Apple Cake
Serves 8 to 10

1 package Spiced Apple Cake Mix
1 1/2 cups canola oil
3 large eggs
3 cups chopped apples

Grease a tube or Bundt pan. Blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan and bake at 350F for 1 hour & 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool; remove from the cake pan.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, powdered vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Stir in the chopped nuts and golden raisins.
  3. Spoon the dry mix into a clean quart-size jar or vacuum-seal bag and seal tightly.
  4. To bake, preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a tube pan or Bundt pan.
  5. Empty the jar mix into a large mixing bowl.
  6. Add the canola oil, eggs, and chopped apples, then blend until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cake, then remove it from the pan before slicing and serving.
