If you’re looking for a refreshing beverage, you’ll LOVE this Watermelon Mojito Refresher! This whole30 compliant beverage is a blend of watermelon, fresh mint and lime juice with no added sugar (no worries, it doesn’t need any).
Carbonation is the Key!
A few years ago a friend of mine graciously gifted our family a SodaStream fountain jet; an item I probably would have never splurged on myself. I’ve got to say, I love it, despite the fact that we don’t drink much soda (actually, I don’t drink ANY), but I do love to carbonate fresh juice mixes like this one!
Depending on the time of year that you make this limes may or may not be in season. If they’re not in season you can use ReaLime, which is 100% juice and imparts decent flavor to the recipe.
It’s a great alternative to fresh limes. However, if you happen to have fresh limes on hand, here’s a simple method to ensure that every drop of juice is extracted, avoiding any waste:
How to Make Watermelon Mojito Refresher
This is easier if you happen to have a juicer but I didn’t, so I just made mine in a mason jar blender.
Simply add the watermelon to the blender, puree. Add the mint and squeeze ALL of the lime juice into the blender as well, Puree.
Strain the mixture through a piece of cheesecloth into a quart mason jar and add enough water to make four cups. I needed to add about half a cup of water, but this is entirely dependent on how fresh/juicy the watermelon is!
Transfer the mixture into a soda stream bottle and carbonate it. If you don’t want to waste the pulp you can add it to homemade pasta sauce (awesome!) or mix it with a bit of unsweetened applesauce and spread it out on a dehydrator tray to make watermelon fruit leather (which is quite tasty too!).

I love watermelon! That’s why I always keep a watermelon in the fridge. I have never tried a watermelon mojito but I think that it sounds refreshing and tasty. This recipe looks pretty easy to make and can be done without too much hassle.
I love how this drink is so refreshing and tasty. The recipe seems easy to follow, too! I’m going to try it tonight for sure. I’ve made a few of these in the past and they’re always delicious. It’s not hard at all and tastes great with just watermelon juice and mint leaves – but you can add anything else like lime or lemon if you want. Definitely recommend trying it out!
