The trick to creating the perfect salmon is in the cedar planks! This is a great way to use up some scrap pieces. Place the planks in cold water and weight them down so they can soak overnight.

A side note, if you happen to follow a Keto lifestyle, we recommend using our homemade keto maple syrup recipe for glazing the salmon.

Maple Glazed Grilled Salmon

You’ll Need:
a piece of Cedar Board
Real Maple Syrup
Minced Garlic
Salt
Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Fresh Salmon (preferably NOT FARMED)

Heat the grill to medium-high heat (using gas or charcoal, doesn’t matter!)

In a small dish, mix about 2-3 tablespoons of Maple syrup, 1/2-3/4 tsp of minced fresh garlic, and freshly ground black pepper to your taste.

Place the raw salmon on the soaked cedar plank piece and brush the salmon with the maple glaze mixture. Place the Salmon planks on the hot grill, close the cover and cook approximately 18-22 minutes (depending on the thickness of your salmon).

While this may seem like a long time, keep in mind that the planks are wet and provide a barrier between the grill plates and the fish. The heat itself is what is cooking the salmon.

This results in the most delicious, light, flaky fish that will ever grace your lips!
