If you love the taste of Wendy’s Famous Frosty, you’ll adore this simple do it yourself homemade recipe to recreate the flavor of both the “Old Recipe” and the “New Recipe”!
What is a Frosty? It’s not quite a shake, not quite ice cream — it’s a FROSTY. Discover what makes these famous fast food desserts (around since 1969!) so memorable. The first frosty sold for just 35¢!
Wendy’s Famous Frosty New Recipe
2 cups vanilla ice cream — slightly thawed
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup NesQuik (formerly Nestle Quik)
1 teaspoon powdered egg whites
Blend the ingredients together thoroughly in your blender. Stopping to scrape down the sides and then blend again. Freeze for at least 2 hours prior to serving.
This recipe yields 2 regular-sized Frosty’s.
The “Old” Recipe:
(not the recommended one)
1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip
half gallon chocolate milk
1 can Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
Combine the sweetened condensed milk and the chocolate milk until thoroughly blended, fold in the cool whip. Freeze. The mixture doesn’t get hard, it’s the consistency of a thick milkshake.
To serve, stir with a heavy spatula, pour into frosted glasses, and Enjoy!

- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup NesQuik
- 1 teaspoon powdered egg whites
Instructions

- Blend the ingredients together thoroughly in your blender, using the pulse option.
- To ensure the NesQuick blends properly, be sure to scrape down the sides and then blend again.
- Freeze for at least 2 hours prior to serving.

 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whiphalf gallon chocolate milk
1 can Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
- Combine the sweetened condensed milk and the chocolate milk until thoroughly blended, fold in the cool whip.
- Freeze.
- The mixture doesn’t get hard, it’s the consistency of a thick milkshake.
