Wendy’s Famous Frosty

If you love the taste of Wendy’s Famous Frosty, you’ll adore this simple do it yourself homemade recipe to recreate the flavor of both the “Old Recipe” and the “New Recipe”!

New Recipe:

2 cups vanilla ice cream — slightly thawed
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup NesQuick (formerly Nestle Quick)
1 teaspoon powdered egg whites

Blend the ingredients together thoroughly in your blender. Stopping to scrape down the sides and then blend again. Freeze for at least 2 hours prior to serving.

This recipe yields 2 regular-sized Frostys

The “Old” Recipe:

(not the recommended one)
1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip
half gallon chocolate milk
1 can Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk

Combine the sweetened condensed milk and the chocolate milk until thoroughly blended, fold in the cool whip. Freeze. The mixture doesn’t get hard, it’s the consistency of a thick milkshake.

To serve, stir with heavy spatula, pour into frosted glasses and Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the recipe…one question though.

Is this a copycat for their old frosty (the one that was only chocolate) or the new version….I’m not a big fan of their newer version. I guess I’m just “old school”! LOL

  2. Went by old recipe and it didn’t turn out at all. Never try one of your recipes again. Money wasted. I’ll just go to Wendy’s.

    • Well, that is why it’s listed as the “Old Recipe” and says, Not recommended. However, over the years, it’s been resubmitted time and time again by members, so we included it.
