Pantry’s Bare 2 Ingredient Cake Recipes

The pantry is bare, you’ve got a cake mix and can of Soda (pop) left, here’s a simple recipe to make a quick dessert or cupcakes!

For this recipe, you’ll literally need just two ingredients, a cake mix and a 12 oz can of soda.

Mix the two items together, just until the ingredients are wet (DO NOT OVERMIX) and pour the batter into a baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

You do NOT need to add eggs or oil.

Bake according to the directions listed on the box for the size pans you’ve chosen to use. You can make a double layer cake, a 9×13, cupcakes, a decorative bundt cake etc.

Here are some flavor ideas:

7up Cake– 7up and Lemon Cake Mix (To make a lemon glaze, combine 2-3 tsp of lemon juice with 1 c. powdered sugar)

Carrot Cake Supreme: Orange Soda + Carrot Cake Mix

Cherry Chip Cake: Dr Pepper Cherry Soda + Cherry Chip Cake Mix

Chocolate Root Beer Float
: Rootbeer and Chocolate Cake Mix

Ginger Spice Cake
: Gingerale and Spice Cake Mix

Harry Potter ButterBeer Cake:
A&W Cream Soda + White Cake Mix + Drizzle Caramel over the top when the cake is done

Mountain Dew Cupcakes: 1 Can Mountain Dew + 1 Lemon Cake Mix

Orange Creamsicle Cake: Sunkist Soda & Vanilla Cake Mix

Purple Cow Cake
: Grape Soda and Vanilla Cake Mix

Strawberry Lemon Cupcakes: 1 strawberry Soda + 1 lemon Cake Mix

Strawberry Shortcake:
A&W Cream Soda & Strawberry Cake Mix

Zesty Lemon Cake:
Sprite (or 7up) and Lemon Cake Mix

Skinny Brownies:
1 Can diet coke + 1 Box Fudge Brownie Mix

Sinless Devils Food Cake: Diet Coke and Devils Food Chocolate Cake Mix

Pumpkin Cake – 1 Can of Pumpkin & 1 Yellow or Spice Cake Mix: (add 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice for kick!)
