Popcorn is a favored staple snack in our house, it’s one of the few things that we insist on purchasing organic to ensure the seeds are GMO-free, mainly due to the reports we discovered back in 2012 explaining in detail how gmo-laden corn lacks ANY nutrition whatsoever and contains dangerous chemicals (formeldehyde) and hormone interrupters.

You’ll Need:
1 cup organic popping corn* (unpopped)
3 T. butter – separated into 2 T. and 1 T., respectively
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
Himalayan Pink Salt or Sea salt

**Optional 3 Tbs Bacon chopped into tiny bits

Pop the popcorn in your favorite popper (we melt 2 tbs of butter and pop the kernels in that on the stovetop).

In a small saucepan, melt the remaining Tablespoon of butter and the real maple syrup together, whisking until combined. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over the freshly popped popcorn, tossing gently to coat all pieces. Sprinkle with salt, let it set about 10 minutes for the the flavor to incorporate the popcorn and then enjoy!

Okay, that last part I made up, by this time people are shoving handfuls of it in their mouths and there’s no such thing as “letting it set”.

If you want to create Salted Maple Bacon Popcorn- add 3 Tbs of Finely chopped crispy bacon to the syrup mixture before pouring it over the popcorn. This one is a camping favorite!

Yield, about 6 cups of Maple Popcorn
