If you’ve ever heard that country song, “Do the Watermelon crawl” you know exactly what you’ll be doing after eating a slice or two of these beauties! This edible margarita doesn’t need a glass…
Sorry folks, This one isn’t for the kids!
1 Small Seedless Watermelon
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 cup tequila
1/2 cup Triple Sec
2 limes, halved or cut into wedges
Flaked sea salt or coarse salt
Carefully slice the top of the watermelon off and place it in a bowl that will hold it upright.
In a small saucepan bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves completely, about 1 minute. Let cool slightly. Stir in tequila and triple sec. Slowly pour the margarita syrup into the watermelon, allowing it to soak in, the place the watermelon in the fridge for at least an hour.
Cut into 1″ thick Wedges, Squeeze limes over melon, and season with salt.
Alternatively, the melon can be sliced first into evenly thick wedges and placed in a 9×13 dish, then pour the margarita mix Over the top of the cut wedges, refrigerate at least 30 minutes prior to serving.
