Create the perfect Vinaigrette Dressing Mix for any occasion. This recipe is a simple make ahead mix that can be altered easily by changing the type of vinegar used. Create your own Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing, Maple Vinaigrette Dressing, or balsamic Vinaigrette.
You’ll Need:
2 teaspoons finely chopped chives
1 teaspoons salt
3/4 tsp sugar
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
dash ground red pepper
dash pepper
Combine the above listed ingredients into a small ziploc baggie.
Makes 1 pkg of Mix

1 c. salad oil
*Optional Ingredient**
1 to 2 finely chopped, hard-cooked eggs
Combine mix, vinegar and oil in small cruet bottle. Let set at least 30 minutes prior to serving.
Dressing mixes make lovely gift basket additions.
To create a lovely Salad Basket, include several different dressing mix recipes, small bottles of various types of of vinegar (such as balsamic, rice vinegar, seasoned rice vinegar) and some pretty salad tongs.

- Combine the chives, salt, sugar, dry mustard, ground red pepper, and pepper in a small zip-top bag or airtight jar.
- Seal and shake gently until the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
- To prepare the dressing, pour 1 package of mix into a small cruet or jar.
- Add the vinegar and salad oil.
- Add 1 to 2 finely chopped hard-cooked eggs, if using.
- Cover and shake well.
- Let the dressing stand for at least 30 minutes before serving.

If you make this for gift giving, the 2 t chopped chives are dried or fresh?The recipe says finely chopped chives so I assumed that meant fresh. Thanks in advance.
