Florentine Dressing is a rich herb and spice vinegrette salad dressing that makes a lovely addition to salads served as side dishes with pasta meals. This lovely recipe makes a nice addition to Italian meal Baskets.

You’ll Need:

1 teaspoons salt
3/4 tsp sugar
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
dash ground red pepper
dash pepper

To Use:
1 pkg Mix
1/4 c. vinegar
1 c. salad oil
3 tablespoons finely minced raw spinach

Combine mix, vinegar, spinach and oil in small cruet bottle. Let set at least 30 minutes prior to serving.

This simple dry dressing mix turns into a tangy spinach vinaigrette with vinegar, oil, and fresh minced spinach. The batch makes about 10 servings at roughly $1.31 total, or about $0.13 per serving, based on current ingredient price estimates.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • Dash ground red pepper
  • Dash pepper
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 3 tablespoons finely minced raw spinach

Instructions

  1. Combine the salt, sugar, dry mustard, ground red pepper, and pepper in a small zip-top bag.
  2. Seal the bag and shake well to blend the dry mix evenly.
  3. To prepare the dressing, add 1 package of mix, vinegar, salad oil, and finely minced raw spinach to a small cruet bottle or jar.
  4. Shake thoroughly to combine.
  5. Let the dressing stand for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Shake again just before serving.

Recipe Size Alteration

Notes
