Peppered jerky bread machine mix contains flour, brown sugar, shredded beef jerky and various seasonings. To prepare a homemade bread maker mix, combine the dry ingredients in a jar and attach a tag with instructions for finishing the recipe.
While the original peppered beef or venison jerky works really well in this recipe, consider switching the jerky out for pepperoni for a delicious change of pace.
Peppered Jerky Bread Machine Mix
You’ll Need:
2 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
3/4 cup Beef Jerky or pepperoni– shredded
1 tablespoon Minced Onion — dried
2 tablespoons Buttermilk Powder
2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes — (dried, crushed)
1 teaspoon Green Peppercorns — whole
2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast in a small ziploc baggie, set aside.
Measure all into a large canning jar or vacuum seal bag and attach tag. This equals one jar of mix.
To make add the mix and the following remaining ingredients in the order your machine manufacturer recommends:
3 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 cup Water, lukewarm
1 Jar mix (as listed above)
Pkg of Yeast
Prepare Regular cycle with light/medium setting as you prefer.
Bread Machine Note: The Bread machine that I used for the bread (displayed in the photo) is the West Bend High Rise (dual paddle) model. Although this recipe should work fine in any Bread Machine.
