  1. i make my beer bread with 3 Cups of Self-rising flour, 3 Tbsp. sugar mixed together. Add one can/bottle of beer.

Melt 1/2 to 1 whole stick of margarine (1/4 – 1/2 Cup) in stone loaf pan. Pour dough into melted margarine pan; melted margarine will make a nonstick coating on the bottom and sides of pan as well as make a great butter flavored crust. Bake at 375* for 40-45 minutes. Other drinks can be substituted for the beer: 7-Up, Rootbeer, Coke, Mountain Dew, etc.

Or, garlic, herbs or even cinnamon and sugar can be incorporated or sprinkled on top for flavored Beer Bread. I make this every time I serve spaghetti.

  2. this was absolutely terrific. i bake the dough in a buttered pyrex casserole dish (covered) at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Next time I will add some fresh herbs, this is a fool-proof recipe.
