The original Kitchen Bouquet ingredients include caramel, vegetable base (water, carrots, onions, celery, parsnips, turnips, salt, parsley, spices), sodium benzoate, and sulfiting agents.
In order to easily reproduce the flavor and consistency, we’ve opted to use vegetable broth to replace the vegetables and brown sugar to create the color and flavor of the caramel. This recipe is so simple to make!
MYO Kitchen Bouquet Clone
1/2 C. brown sugar
2 C. vegetable broth
Put brown sugar in a pan on low heat and let it burn or parch, slowly stirring all the time. When it turns a dark brown, add broth, stirring well. Store in glass bottle or small jar. Adds color & thickens gravy.
