MYO Clam Base
1 can clams (6-1/2-oz.)
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
To make homemade clam base – simply puree the contents of a can of clams with salt and lemon juice. Use 2 tablespoons of this base for the recipe your using.
Works great in clam chowder and other seafood soup recipes.
I imagine this has to be refrigerated after making, but how long will it last?
This should be used within 48 hours. The rest can be frozen in ice cube trays and then sealed in ziploc or vacuum seal bags until needed. Generally speaking, most ice cube trays hold 2 Tbs. so 1 cube is perfect.
