A delectable blend of Parmesan cheese and herbs in a hearty dense flavorful biscuit- the perfect accompaniment for any meal. This mix recipe can be made ahead of time and kept on hand for a quick side or as a lovely tasty gift.
You’ll Need:
3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
Blend all ingredients well and pour into a cellophane bag or jar.
Instructions for gift tag:
1 cup milk or buttermilk
1 stick butter, softened
Jar/Bag of Mix
Combine all, blend well. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 min. on greased cookie sheet or in a greased muffin tin, (as pictured)
For Lighter Layered Biscuits:
If you’d prefer a lighter, flakier Parmesan herb biscuit cut 1 stick of hard cold butter into the mix recipe of Parmesan Biscuit mix.
Add milk and stir just until ingredients are moistened. Overturn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently press or roll out the dough. Fold it into 1/3rds, gently press it out once more, fold it into 1/3’rd, press or roll it out to 1/2″ thick, cut out using a biscuit cutter.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 min. on greased cookie sheet
Other Gift Ideas: You could also place this into a decorated plant pot with some basil/ thyme seeds a note on how much yummier these would be would FRESH chopped herbs.
