1 c. instant nonfat dry milk
2 t. grated romano or parmesan cheese
1/3 c. dried minced onion
1 t. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. white pepper
Measure all ingredients into a large ziploc bag, seal and shake to combine.
To use, combine 1/4 cup Noodles Mix with 2 tablespoons melted
butter and 1/4 cup milk. Toss with pasta.
For variety, add 1/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese in place of the
Parmesan cheese for a different taste.
i was wondering what type of cheese is used. is it the “powdered” kind~~since the fresh would get moldy or do you not store this mix, but use right away
i love alfredo…i need to try it!:
laxmom that is a good question. if you search online dried cheeses can be found. or you can just make the mixes and store in your freezer for 3 months.
there’s no cooking to this? wouldn’t the minced onion be a bit crunchy? or do you heat the milk, melt the butter into it and then add the mix, stir until saucy?
how much does this make? number of servings 1? Doesn’t seem like it makes much and I need to make up mason jars for a family of 2 and a family of 4!
Anybody have any ideas?
I’ve seen this answered twice already in 2 other places so I’m just going to copy & paste FreebieQueens response to it:
The easiest way to see how much a recipe yields is to add up the ingredients, in this case about 1 1/3 cups, since the recipe states to use 1/4 cup measure per mug mix, it would be safe to assume that this will serve 4 -5 people.
I think I’m going to wait to add cheese until time to use so I can store it, and double everything for 4 people. I also think that the milk should be heated and then everything added to it.
