Jello popcorn is a fun, lightly candied popcorn treat that can be easily made into jello popcorn balls, or as a loose popcorn snack. Try this simple recipe multiple flavors, such as strawberry, cherry, lime, orange, and more!
If you make multiple flavors, you can create bags of snacks to share with your friends.
It’s fun to mix flavors as you eat them, much like jelly belly combinations. This recipe works with most brands of flavored gelatin, including the delicious Starburst gelatin. We highly recommend the blue raspberry and pink starburst flavors!
If you’d prefer a slightly sour version, give the Jolly Rancher gelatin flavors a try. Sprinkle half a teaspoon of citric acid powder over the top of the completed popcorn the moment it comes out of the oven to create a “sour babies” candied flavor.

Jello Popcorn Balls
These have AmazeBalls Flavor (or so I was told when I included them in a recent College care package, Bonus- They’re LIGHT too!) and are great for snacking on the go, traveling, or munching on midday.
Here is a smaller recipe that makes just 8 balls, perfect for snacks without going overboard.
8 cups Popped Popcorn
2 cups Mini Marshmallows
1/4 cup Butter
2 T Jello Powder
Put popcorn in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Place pan in 300°F oven to keep the popcorn warm.
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, stirring until melted completely. Add the jello powder *whichever flavor you want!),
As soon as the jello powder is completely mixed in, remove popcorn from oven and pour the mixture over the popcorn, stir well to completely coat.
Butter hands and when the mixture is cool enough to handle safely, Form the sticky mixture into balls.
