Before you begin, pop approximately 2 gallons of fresh popcorn and set it aside.

You’ll Need:
1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup

In a medium-sized saucepan combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently and boil five minutes. Immediately remove from heat and add:

1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup salted peanuts

Mix well, then Pour evenly over 2 gallons popcorn (popped of course), stirring to assure even coverage.

Bake in 250 degree oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. When cool, this results in a hard caramel coated popcorn
