Chocolate Waffles Mix

Chocolate Waffles are a favorite in our family, they’re wonderful with fresh sliced berries as a breakfast or a dessert.

You’ll Need:
2 cups Homemade Quick Mix (bisquick-style mix)
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Cocoa

Combine the dry ingredients in a jar, ziploc bag or vacuum seal bag. Attach a tag listing the following directions to complete the recipe:

2 Eggs
1 c Buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tbs melted butter

In a bowl, beat eggs with a hand mixer until frothy. Add milk, vanilla and butter. Mix lightly to combine combine. Add the dry ingredients and continue mixing with a hand mixer until lumps are small but batter is not completely smooth.

Pour onto batter into the center of the heated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturers directions.

These can be made ahead of time and frozen. Simply pop them into the toaster for a quick breakfast.

Pair crispy toasted waffles with fresh berries and a dollop of greek yogurt for a light dessert.
