Brain eating zombies are just the thing this year and these delicious brain hemorrhage gumdrop bites will be the hit of your gruesome eerie edibles party table!
This recipe is a variation of Brain Hemorrhage gumdrops that we saw here on Hungry Happenings. I think we liked how theirs came out better, so be sure to check them out!

You’ll Need:
2 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 tsp Flavoring Oil (any flavor you want)

6 Tbs water
1 cup sugar
about 3 drops each red food coloring
more sugar for coating, about 1/2 cup

Brain Mold

Combine gelatin and 1/4 cup of cold water in a small bowl, stir briefly and then set aside for 2 minutes.

While that is setting, combine water with sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, let it cool a moment or two and then pour the hot syrup mixture into the gelatin, stirring until completely dissolved.
Add gelatin mixture to syrup, and stir until completely dissolved.

Pour into a brain mold that has been sprayed with NON-Stick Spray. Wait about 20 Minutes, then carefully plunge a toothpick that has been dipped in red food coloring into the center of each “brain”, skewering it in a round motion to spread the hemorrhage! If you don’t wait your entire brain will turn bright red.

Chill for about 2 hours before inverting onto a plate and then rolling in sugar.

Makes 8 Brains.
