My 12-year-old son came up with the idea of “Special Ops Tomato” this year. He had been saying he wanted to be a zombie all month. When we went to the thrift store to buy some clothes we could tear apart, he looked at us and said “Special Ops Tomato.” Ummm…What?! This is what we came up with. We stuffed a red sweatshirt with plastic bags to round it up, found a red sparring helmet at the thrift store, some fake dog tags, camo face paint, along with being wrapped in black fabric (more of a ninja tomato) to hold all of the fake weapons he could scrounge out of his room and hello Commander Tomato! He said “But mom, it’s original!” Yes honey. It certainly is. 🙂
