Extra Strength Cough Syrup

When a tough cough rears its ugly head, it can make the entire family suffer needlessly. This wonderfully warming extra strength cough syrup works great to end tough coughs.

This should not be given to children under 5 as the Cayenne can have a slight burning sensation, also honey is not recommended for children under a year old.

Fair warning, although this works wonderfully for calming tough coughs that just won’t quit, it is an acquired taste.

Vinegar with the Mother is referring to Natural (undistilled) organic, raw Apple Cider Vinegar. When purchasing ACV it should be rich, brownish in color and if held to the light you might see a tiny formation of “cobweb-like” substances which are referred to as “the mother.” These are strands of enzymes with living nutrients and healthy bacteria that are essential to this beneficial recipe.

Extra Strength Cough Syrup

You’ll Need:

• 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 2 Tablespoons Raw honey
• 2 Tablespoon RAW Organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother!)
• 1 Tablespoon water

Measure all the ingredients in a small jar, seal and shake well to combine. Shake just prior to taking to ensure it’s well mixed and take 2 teaspoonsful at a time as needed.

To answer the question “can I use Any Apple Cider Vinegar”-

You could, but it won’t work effectively unless you use vinegar with the “Mother”. There are several brands of Unpasteurized, Organic ACV on the market and most stores carry them.
