Add a little magic to your morning with Fatlady’s pancake mix! As massive fans of the entire Harry Potter series (fan fiction included), we decided it was necessary to start every Harry Potter movie marathon with a good old fashioned breakfast.


The fat lady, if you’re not familiar, is the lovely lady who guarded the entrance to the Gryffindor Tower at Hogwart’s Castle. She asked each student who attempted to enter for a password before allowing them through.

Fatlady’s pancake mix makes a great muggle gift in a jar as well. Just follow the recipe as listed at the bottom and be sure to attach a tag with directions on how to complete the recipe.

How to Make Fat Lady’s Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes

Beat the egg, milk, and vegetable oil together until smooth. Add Fatlady’s pancake mix (complete recipe is provided at the bottom!) until moistened. The batter will still be lumpy — do not over mix.


Set this mixture aside for a moment, set a skillet over medium heat, and get your pan good and hot! In the meantime, melt the butter and mix it with the brown sugar/cinnamon, until smooth.

Pour the batter into the pan and let the pancakes start to bubble.


Once they begin to bubble, cut a small corner off the baggie of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and create a swirl pattern on each pancake. Cook until bubbly all over and then flip the pancake.


Be sure to only flip the pancakes once, as this keeps them light and fluffy. Cook the pancakes until they are golden brown.


In a small bowl combine the ingredients listed under the icing and mix until they’re smooth. Drizzle the pancakes with icing, as desired, or serve with maple syrup.


Fatlady’s Pancake Mix in a Jar

Layer the following in a Jar:
3 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt

In a separate baggie combine the following:
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

You’ll Need:
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
3 Tbs vegetable oil
1 1/4 c. of Fatlady’s Pancake Mix (as listed above)

Beat the egg, milk, and vegetable oil together until well mixed. Add 1 1/4 cups of Fatlady’s pancake mix until moistened. The batter will still be lumpy — do not over mix.

Cinnamon Swirl Center

2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Combine the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix until smooth. Cut 1/4 inch off a corner of the baggie and store it with the opening upright in a small glass until ready to use.
Pour the batter into the frying pan, add a swirl of cinnamon & sugar, and once the batter bubbles nicely, flip the pancakes.

Optional Pancake Icing

1 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons milk
Pinch of fine salt

Combine the confectioners’ sugar, butter, milk, and salt in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth and set aside. Drizzle the icing over the hot cinnamon swirled pancakes if you so desire.
